1546 LAWS OF MARYLAND.
CHAPTER 820.

AN ACT to repeal Section 451A of Article 11 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws, title "Frederick County," sub-title "Treas-
urer, '' as enacted by the Act of 1896, Chapter 177, as repealed
and re-enacted by the Act of 1898, Chapter 486, and to re-enact
the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land That Section 451A of Article 11 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Frederick County," sub-title
"Treasurer," as enacted by the Act of 1896, Chapter 177, as
repealed and re-enacted by the Act of 1898. Chapter 486, be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as to read as
follows:

SEC. 451-A. At the general election to be held the Tuesday
next after the first Monday in the month of November, in the
year nineteen hundred and fifteen, and on the same day in every
fourth year thereafter, a county treasurer shall be elected by
the qualified voters of Frederick County, who shall hold his
office for the term of four years and until his successor in office
is duly elected and qualified, and who shall be removed from
office by the County Commissioners of Frederick County upon
conviction in the Circuit Court for said County or in any other
county having jurisdiction in the premises, for any wilful ne-
glect of duty, or misbehavior in office; and in case of a vacancy
in said office, by reason of a removal from office as herein pro-
vided, or by reason of death, resignation, removal from the
county, or in any other manner, the Governor of the State shall
be and he is hereby authorized and empowered to fill such va-
cancy by appointment of some person having the necessary
qualification, who shall hold said office for the remainder of the
said term. The person so elected county treasurer shall be col-
lector of all State and County taxes for said county, for what-
soever purpose, which shall be levied or assessed during his
term of office, in the same manner and to the same extent and
with the same powers heretofore exercised by the County Treas-
urer and collector of State and County taxes for said county,
under the laws of the State of Maryland; and it shall be his
duty to receive and collect all State and County taxes, levied or
assessed or placed in his hands for collection, with full power
and authority to enforce the payment of the same by distraint,
sale or otherwise, and also to receive all money which shall be
due and payable to said county from any source whatsoever;
