1490 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

tion beyond the principal office or building, he shall be paid
in addition therefor in each case fees at the above rates, except
in such cases where further examination is made in the same
town or city, when he shall be paid a per diem fee of not more
than $15.00; when such institutions require a special or un-
usual examination by the Bank Commissioner, he shall be paid
a per diem fee of not more than $20.00; he shall also be paid a
fee of $5.00 where it is necessary for him to count securities be-
yond the principal office or building. The Bank Commissioner
shall collect the amounts named from the institution examined
and pay the same to the State Treasurer, and he shall draw, on
proper orders, from the State Treasury the amounts necessary
for the salaries and other expenses of his office.

SEC. III. And be it further enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That two new Sections be, and the same are
hereby enacted, and added to said Article 11 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland of 1904, title "Banks," to
follow Sections 11 and 61, and to be known as Sections 11-A
and 61-A of said Article 11, and to read as follows:

SEC. 11-A. If in the opinion of the Bank Commissioner any
banking institution, and any of the officers, managers and trus-
tees of any banking institution, have violated any of the pro-
visions of this or any law governing the same, he shall forth-
with report such violation to the Governor of the State, who
may direct the Attorney-General to institute a proper proceed-
ing for the prosecution for such violation.

SEC. 61-A. No bank or trust company having a capital stock
of $100,000.00 or more, shall carry for a longer period than 90
days bills payable in an amount greater than its paid-in capi-
tal, and no bank or trust company with a capital stock of less
than $100,000.00, shall carry for a longer period than 90 days
bills payable in an amount greater than its paid-in capital and
surplus. The period of 90 days herein specified may be ex-
tended with the written authority of the Bank Commissioner;
but in no case for a longer period than an additional 90 days.

SEC. IV. And be it further enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section 5 of Article 11 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland of 1904, as amended by Chapter
219 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1910,
be and the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. V. And be it further enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section 50 of Article 11 of the Code of
