CHAPTER 803.
AN ACT making an appropriation for the support and improve-
ment of the Allegany County Tuberculosis Sanatorium, In-
corporated, and authorize the County Commissioners of said
County to levy for the support of same.
WHEREAS, The Allegany County Tuberculosis Sanatorium,
Incorporated, has been incorporated and organized and a build-
ing erected near the City of Cumberland, in Allegany County,
for the accommodation of advanced cases of tuberculosis for
whom provision cannot be made in other sanatoriums; and
WHEREAS, The said Sanatorium is already taxed to its capac-
ity, and provision should be made for an increase in the num-
ber of patients who are unable to gain admission to other sana-
toriums in the State; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) be and the
same is hereby appropriated for each of the fiscal years ending
September 30, 1915, and September 30, 1916, to the Allegany
County Tuberculosis Sanatorium, Incorporated, to be expended in
the maintenance and improvement of the Sanatorium of said
corporation located near the City of Cumberland, in Allegany
County, and the Comptroller of the Treasury is hereby au-
thorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the Treasurer
for the payment of the said sum only when the said Allegany
County Tuberculosis Sanatorium, Incorporated, shall have sat-
isfied him that it has raised by bona fide subscription, or by an
appropriation from the County Commissioners of Allegany
County a sum equal to twice that above appropriated by the
State.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Commis-
sioners of Allegany County be and they are hereby authorized
in their discretion to raise by levy upon the taxpayers of said
Allegany County, such sums as they may deem proper to carry
out the provisions of this Act.
SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
