SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sanction and consent of the General Assembly
of Maryland be and the same is hereby declared, given and
granted to the bequest of three hundred dollars ($300.00) to
The Second Universalist Society of Baltimore, as contained in
the last will and testament of Annie E. McElroy, dated the
29th day of March, 1913, and recorded in the office of the
Register of Wills of Baltimore City.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 675.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 2 and 5 of Article 43 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Health," and to
re-enact the same with amendments, and to Authorize the
State Board of Health of Maryland to divide the State into
ten sanitary districts, creating ten deputy health officers and
prescribing their powers, duties and qualifications, extending
the jurisdiction of the State Board of Health, making the
secretary of said Board of State health officer and increasing
his salary five hundred dollars and for other purposes con-
nected with the better preservation of the public health, by
adding certain additional Sections to Article 43 of the Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland, title '' Health,'' one of
said Sections to follow immediately after Section 2 and to be
known as Section 2A, the others to follow immediately after
Section 5 to be known as Sections 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, 5E and 5F
and to appropriate a sum of money for the carrying into effect
the provisions hereof.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2 of Article 43 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, title "Health," be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read
as follows:
SEC. 2. The State Board of Health shall have the general
care of the sanitary interests of the people of this State; they
shall make sanitary investigations and inquiries respecting
the causes of disease, and especially epidemics, the causes of
mortality and the influence of locality, employments, habits
and other circumstances and conditions upon the health of
the people; they shall inquire into and investigate all nuisances
affecting the public health and are authorized and empowered,
