portion of the County road tax received by the Treasurer of
Chevy Chase shall be used by said Chevy Chase Citizens' Com-
mittee exclusively for opening, maintaining and repairing the
County roads, streets and lanes that may have been dedicated to
the public or to Montgomery County and whether accepted by
said County or not; all other funds to be used by said Chevy
Chase Citizens' Committee directly or through said Committee
exclusively for opening, maintaining, repairing and lighting
the streets, roads, alleys, sidewalks, parking, draining, sewerage,
sanitation and1 other village maintenance and improvements,
clerical and other public service, for furnishing police protec-
tion and public service, including the removal of ashes, garbage
and other refuse, and disposal thereof; for the employment of
a building inspector to enforce the requirements of all deeds of
conveyance for properties situated in said village for enforcing
such building, sanitary and other regulations as said Citizens
Committee, subject to the approval of the Board of County
Commissioners, may prescribe for said village, or for any part
or section thereof.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That at the said meeting-
of registered and qualified voters of said part of said village-
of Chevy Chase to be held on the third Monday of April, 1914,
and on the same date every two years thereafter upon a reason-
able notice being given, there shall be elected the Chevy Chase
Citizens' Committee, which shall consist of seven (7) residents
of said part of said village, who shall be registered and quali-
fied voters of the State, each of whom shall qualify on the
first Monday of May thereafter as such Committeeman by taking
an oath to diligently and faithfully discharge all duties of
the office and they shall constitute such Chevy Chase Citizens'
Committee for the ensuing two (2) years. In case any of such
persons so elected as Committeemen shall fail to qualify on the
date named, or in case of any vacancy through death, resigna-
tion, or otherwise, the remaining Committeemen shall fill such
vacancy by the appointment of a resident registered and quali-
fied voter of said village, who shall hold office for such term
or unexpired term.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That said Chevy Chase-
Citizens' Committee is empowered, to grade, pave, macadamize,
or otherwise improve any existing dedicated street, road or lane,
or any County road, Streeter lane, which has been, or which
may be acquired and opened for public use, but which is un-
graded, unpaved, or unimproved, and to lay sidewalks and
