PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, GOVERNOR. 1015.

dering the same to be removed, shall be liable in damages to the
respective owners of the land bordering on said ditch for any
damage done to the growing crops, timber and fences of the
said respective owners, in and about the removal of said ob-
structions.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 608.

AN ACT to permit the search of any premises in Price George's
County wherein or whereon it is charged before any Justice
of the Peace in a warrant that a bawdy house or house of ill
fame is being run, or spirituous or fermented liquors sold
without a license from said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That where any person in Prince George's County is;
charged with keeping a bawdy house or house of ill fame or
with selling spirituous or fermented liquor without a State or
County license, before any Justice of the Peace of said County,
and a warrant issued for the arrest of the person so charged,
the said Justice of the Peace may, if so requested by the person
so charging in said warrant, and upon the oath of the said per-
son that he has good reason to believe that certain designated
premises in said County are being used and occupied for the
purposes of violating the law against bawdy houses and houses
of ill fame or the law against the sale of liquor in said County,
issue a warrant to any sheriff, or constable of said County,
authorizing such officer to enter and search the premises so des-
ignated and to seize and bring before such Justice of the Peace
some other Justice having jurisdiction any evidence of a viola-
tion of such laws, which he may find upon such premises.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its. passage.

CHAPTER 609.

AN ACT to fix the salaries of the members of the Board of Super-
visors of Elections of Prince George's County, Maryland, for
all elections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the members of the Board of Supervisors of Elec-
tions of Prince George's County, Maryland, shall each receive
