LAWS OF MARYLAND.

franchises, heretofore granted to the Isabella Gas
Works, by an act passed by the General Assem-
bly, at its January session, eighteen hundred and
fifty-three, chapter two hundred and thirty-four,
entitled, ''An act to incorporate the Isabella Gas
Works of Frederick city," in as full and ample
manner as if the said Charles E. Trail, Jacob M.
Kunkel and William T. Brown had been named
as the corporators in said original act of incorpo-
ration, and subject to the limitations and restric-
tions therein contained, except as hereinafter pro-
vided, and the said original act of incorporation
of the Isabella Gas Works, is hereby continued
and confirmed unto the said Charles E. Trail,
Jacob M. Kunkel and William T. Brown, their
associates, successors and assigns.

Directors, &c.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Charles
E. Trail, Jacob M. Kunkel and William T. Brown
be and they are hereby appointed Directors of the
said Isabella Gas Works, and they are hereby au-
thorized to act as such, until by transfers of the
stock or additional subscriptions, the number of
stockholders shall be increased to ten or upwards,
and that upon such increase of stockholders, or
by the first Monday in July thereafter, a board of
directors, either of stockholders or non-stockhold-
ers, shall be elected by the stockholders, to con-
duct and manage the business and affairs of the
said Isabella Gas Works, in conformity with the
provisions of this and of said original act of
incorporation.

In force.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
