CHAPTER 263.

Passed March
7, 1862.

AN ACT to compensate Doctor Dennis Claude
for performing the duties of Comptroller of the
Treasury, under the appointment, of the Gover-
nor, from the twenty-second day of July, eight-
teen hundred and sixty-one, to the eighth day of
October in the same year.

Sums appro-
priated.

SECTION 1, Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That, on the warrant of the Comp-
troller of the Treasury, the Treasurer, out of any
money in the Treasury, not otherwise appropriated,
pay to Doctor Dennis Claude the sum of five hun-
dred and thirty-three dollars, for performing the
duties of the Comptroller of the Treasury, by ap-
pointment of the Governor, from, the twenty-se-
cond day of July in the year eighteen hundred
and sixty-one, to the eighth day of October of the
same year ; and Harry Levely, clerk to the late
Comptroller, Dennis Claude, three hundred and
seventy-five dollars and sixty-one cents, for services
rendered as clerk, from the first of July, eighteen
hundred and sixty-one, to the twenty-third of Oc-
tober; and William Camden, one hundred and
seventy-five dollars, for services as assistant clerk
in the Comptroller's office during the same period ;
also, two thousand dollars, or as much thereof as
may be necessary, to pay the outstanding claims of
members and others of the late Legislature, at their
extra session at Frederick, the same to be paid
only on the certificate of the committee on Claims
of the House of Delegates.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage.
