AN ACT to change the name of Mary Britting-
ham, to that of Mary Sterling.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the name of Mary Brittingham,
of Someiset county, Maryland, be and the same is
hereby changed to that of Mary Sterling.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
have effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the Maryland Corn and
Flour Exchange.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly that it would greatly promote the interests
of the producers of grain, provisions, flour and
produce generally, as well as those »f the buyers
and sellers thereof, that a mart or exchange for
the sale and purchase of such articles should be
established in the city of Baltimore, under proper
regulations and under the control of loyal citi-
zens of the United States, and where farmers,
millers, factors and shippers can have the greatest
facilities for the transaction of business, by meet-
ing daily and by having access to commercial
newspapers, prices current and telegraphic conj-
munications; and whereas, a number of persons
have associated themselves for the purpose of
establishing and conducting such mart or ex-
change, and affording such facilities in said city;

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Chesnut, Peter Sauer-
wine, George F. Needham, Samuel Hazlehurst,
James A. Hooper, William E. Woodyear, B. B.
