AN ACT to incorporate the village of the Rising
Sun, in Cecil county, Maryland, passed January
session, eighteen hundred and sixty, chapter
three hundred and eighty-three, and to repeal
the one hundred and sixty-five, one hundred and
sixty-six, one hundred and sixty-seven, one hun-
dred and sixty-eight, one hundred and sixty-
nine, one hundred and seventy, one hundred
and seventy-one, one hundred and seventy-two,
one hundred and seventy-three and one hundred
and seventy-fourth sections of the eighth Arti-
cle of the Code of Public Local Laws, and to
substitute in lieu of said sections the following
sections incorporating the village of the Rising
Sun in said county.

SECTION 1. The citizens of the village of Rising
Sun, Cecil county, Maryland, are a body politic
by the name of "Commissioners of Rising Sun,"
with all the privileges of a body corporate, and as
such shall have succession, and by their corporate
name may sue and be sued, plead and be implead-
ed, grant, receive and do all other acts as natural
persons, and may purchase and hold real, personal
and mixed property, or dispose of the same for the
benefit of said village, and have and used common
seal which they may change at pleasure.

Sec. 2. The free male white citizens of said vil-
lage of the age of twenty-one years and upwards,
being citizens of the United States, who shall have
resided in said village for and during the space of
six months preceding, may on the second Mon-
day in May, in each and every year, at the usual
