were such prior to the sale to Richard Smyth, and
that this Act shall take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to repeal an act entitled, An act to re-
lieve the Mayor and members of the Board of
Police of the city of Baltimore, and all persons
who acted under their orders in their efforts to
maintain peace and good order and prevent fur-
ther strife on and after the occurrences of the
nineteenth of April, eighteen hundred and sixty-
one, in said city, from prosecution for, or in con-
sequence of their acts of obedience of said orders,
passed at the April session, eighteen hundred
and sixty-one, chapter eight.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the act entitled, An act to re-
lieve the Mayor and members of the Board of Po-
lice, of the city of Baltimore, and all persons who
acted under their orders in their efforts to main-
tain peace and good order and prevent further
strife on and after the occurrences of the nineteenth
of April; eighteen hundred and sixty-one, in said
city, from prosecution for or in consequence of their
acts of obedience of said orders, passed at the April
session, eighteen hundred and sixty-one, chapter
eight, be and the same is hereby repealed.

Repealed.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect and be in force from and after the day of its
passage.
