AN ACT to repeal so much of Article four of the
Code of Public Local Laws, as authorizes the
persons named in section eight hundred and
seven, to disburse the funds therein provided,
and to provide for the payment of the Police
Force now in the service of the United States in
the city of Baltimore.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, be and they are hereby authorized and
directed to pay to the Provost Marshal of the
United States, in the city of Baltimore, a sum of
money sufficient to pay and discharge all arrears
of wages or salary, now due to the Officers and
Policemen now serving as the Police Force under
the said Provost Marshal. The said payment to
be made out of any monies in the hands of the said
Mayor and City Council, or other officer of the
city of Baltimore, and which by the provisions of
Article four of the Code of Public Local Laws, are
now subject to the order or appropriation of the
Board of Police, created by the said article.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the power and
authority of the Commissioners of Police named
in the aforesaid article, to appropriate or apply any
monies, raised or proposed to be raised, under the
provisions of the aforesaid article, and which
would by virtue thereof, be subject to the control

of the said Commissioners, be and the same is
hereby revoked and annulled, and that so much of
Article four as authorizes and requires the four
persons named in section eight hundred and seven
of said article, to use, draw for or disburse any of
the funds provided under said article, by the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, to or for any
purpose, be and the same is hereby repealed.

Sec 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the passing thereof.
