well and truly account for all money and other
liabilities placed in, bis hands for collection, and
shall well and truly pay all sums, of money re-
ceived by him.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the School Sisters of
Notre Dame, in the City of Baltimore.

Incorporated.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Mary Idephonsa Wegmann,
Josephine Fenni, Constantia Schnerr, Evangelesta
Meier, Chrisologa Platzer, Sabina Berger and
Basilia Bidel, and those who may hereafter become
members of the association now and hereby form-
ed by the parties above named, and their succes-
sors shall be and they are hereby constituted a
body politic and corporate by the name and style
of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, in the City
of Baltimore, with perpetual succession, and by
that name may sue and be sued, may have and use
a common seal, may take, hold, possess, use and
enjoy any estate or property, real, personal or mix-
ed, by gift, devise, purchase or otherwise in fee
. simple, or for less estate, and the same or any
part thereof, may lease, sell or convey by deed or
otherwise, with full power and authority to collect
and receive all debts, rents and dues which may
hereafter become due and owing to the said corpo-
ration by suit or otherwise, as any natural person

Proviso.

may lawfully do; Provided always, That the an-
nual income of the. property and estate to be ac-
quired and held by said Corporation as aforesaid,
shall not at any time exceed the sum of ten thous-
and dollars, exclusive of any income said Corpo-
ration, may derive from their school, library and
philosophical apparatus.
