AN ACT to authorize Mrs. Margaret Sherwood,
wife of Hugh Sherwood, of Talbot county, to
close a public road leading through her lands in
said county.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, for a number of years past, a public
road has been used, running through the lands of
Margaret Sherwood, wife of Hugh Sherwood, of
Talbot county; and whereas, the necessity for said
road no longer exists, owing to the division and
sale of a great portion of said lands, for the benefit
of which the road was made; and whereas, the
lands of Mrs. Milcah M. Tilghman, for whose
benefit alone, the said road is now used, adjoins
the main road leading to Miles River Ferry, to
which she has easy access through her own lands;
therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the said Margaret Sherwood
be, and she is hereby authorized to close the said
road leading through her farm, commencing at the
point where the division line of said farm crosses
the public road, and ending at the gate near the
residence of the said Mrs. Milcah M. Tilghman.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage ,

provided, thirty days notice be given to said Mrs.
M. M. Tilghman, before closing said road.
