LAWS OF MARYLAND.

pursuance of an act of the General Assembly of
Maryland entitled, An act to incorporate the Bal-
timore and Pikesville Railroad Company, as wit-
ness our hands and seals this —— day of —,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hun-
dred and sixty-four; and if any of the said Commis-
sioners shall die or decline to act, before the ful-
fillment of the duties devolved upon them by this
act, others may be appointed in their stead by the
remaining Commissioners.

Capital stock.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said Baltimore and Pikesville Railroad Company
shall be two hundred thousand dollars, in shares
of twenty dollars each, and as soon as five hundred
shares of said stock shall be subscribed, the sub-
scribers, their successors and assigns, they shall
be and are hereby declared to be incorporated, by
the name, style and title of the Baltimore and
Pikesville Railroad Company, and by that name
shall have perpetual succession, and be capable in
law of purchasing, receiving, holding, using, sell-
ing, leasing, mortgaging and conveying goods and
chattels, lands, tenements and hereditaments, and
all estates, real, personal and mixed, of whatsoever
kind and quality; may sue and be sued, plead and
be impleaded, in all courts of this State or of the
United States; may make, have and use a common
seal, and the same may be altered or renewed at
pleasure; and may also, ordain, establish or en-
force such by-laws and regulations as they shall
deem necessary for the government of said corpora-
tion, not repugnant to the Constitution and laws
of this State and of the United States, and gene-
rally may do all, and singular the matters and
things, and exercise all rights, powers and privi-

leges which may properly appertain for the well-
being and ordering of the eaid corporation; pro-
vided, that nothing herein contained shall he
construed as in any way giving to the said cor-
poration any banking privileges whatsoever, or
any other powers or privileges than such as are
necessary or incident to the making and proper
management of the railroad mentioned in this act.

To give notice.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the Commission-
ers aforesaid shall, as soon as conveniently may be
after this act shall take effect, and after five hun-
