Sec. 7. And be it enacted. That this act shall
take effect from the date of it passage, and that
the General Assembly reserves the right to alter,
amend or repeal the same at pleasure.

CHAPTER 208.

 

AN ACT to incorporate the Youghagany Petro-
leum, Coal, Iron and Lumber Company.

24, 1865.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Samuel Engle, John Hoye,
John Phillips, Edward Hoye, Daniel Hoye, Han-
son Jordan, Jeremiah L. Townshend and such
other persons as may become associated with them
in the manner hereinafter provided, shall be and
they are hereby made and constituted a body poli-
tic and corporate, by the name of the Youghagany
Petroleum, Coal, Iron and Lumber Company, and
by that name shall have perpetual succession, and
be able to sue and be sued, to plead and be im-
pleaded in any court whatever, and may have and
use a common seal, and the same alter and renew
at pleasure, and make by-laws, rules, regulations
not inconsistent with the laws of this State or of
the United States, and the said body corporate
shall have all the powers, faculties, franchises and
rights necessary or proper for mining coal, iron
ore and all other minerals, and for boring for coal
oil and other oils, gases and vapors, and for manu-
facturing all manner of lumber, and for the pre-
paration of all the products of its property for
market and use, and for the erecting, repairing
and maintaining all necessary and suitable works,
factories, machinery and fixtures for the manufac-
ture and preparation for sale of all the minerals,
oils, gases, lumber and other products of its pro-
perty whatsoever, and for the beneficial manage-
ment of its property and transporting to market
