Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said corpo-
ration and their successors, by the name, style
and title aforesaid, shall have power to sue and be
sued, plead and be impleaded, answer and be an-
swered unto, defend and be defended, in all or any
courts of justice, and before all or any judges, of-
ficers or persons whatsoever, in all and singular
actions, matters or demands whatsoever.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the said corpo-
ration and their successors, shall have a common
seal for their use, and the same at their will and
pleasure to change, alter and make anew, from
time to time, as they may think best; and shall in
general have and exercise all such rights, privi-
leges and immunities as are incident or necessary
to corporations, and what may be necessary to the
corporation herein constituted to enable it duly
and fully to execute all things touching and con-
cerning the design and intent thereof, for the be-
nevolent succor and relief of distressed persons, and
for the attainment of other equally laudable objects.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the Legislature
reserves to itself the right to alter, amend or re-
peal this act at pleasure.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage,
and that all acts of Assembly, inconsistent with
this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

AN ACT to refund a sum of money paid into the
State Treasury erroneously by Edward Pen-
nington, a Collector of State tax for the First
District ,of Cecil county, for the year eighteen
hundred and sixty-one.
