any of the waters of this State, in which he may
be entitled to take or catch oysters bedding in the
waters of the State.

All persons to
number boat.
|
8. That all persons taking out a license to take
or catch oysters within the waters of this State,
with rakes or tongs, shall number their canoe or
other boat, with the number on said license, any
person obtaining such license refusing or neglect-
ing to comply with this provision, shall on con-
viction before a Justice of the Peace, pay a fine of
not less than five nor more than twenty dollars,
one-half to be paid to the informer, the residue to
be paid to the Comptroller of the Treasury.

To make oath.
|
9. That the applicant for such license shall first
make oath before the Clerk authorized to grant
said license, that he will obey and comply With
all the provisions of the laws of this State, regu-
lating the taking and catching of oysters, and
that he will to the best of his ability, aid in the
enforcement of said laws.

Penalty for
not obtaining
license.
|
10. That if any person or persons shall take
oysters within any of the waters of this State,
with rakes or tongs, who has not taken out the
license required by the preceding sections, he
shall pay a fine of not less than twenty nor more
than one hundred dollars, in the discretion of the
Justice of life Peace, before whom the same may
be tried, one-half of said fine shall be paid to the
informer, and the residue to be paid to the Comp-
troller of the Treasury.

Amount of li-
cense.
|
11. That the applicant for a license to take or
catch oysters, within any of the waters of this
State with rakes or tongs, shall pay the sum of
five dollars for every canoe or other boat, to be
used in taking or catching oysters with rakes or
tongs.

Constituted
officers.
|
12. That the master, and every and all the
white hands employed on board of every vessel li-
censed under this Article, are constituted officers
of this State, for the purpose of arresting and con-
veying before some Circuit Court or Justice of the
Peace, who shall have jurisdiction thereip, any
person engaged in violating any of the provisions
of this act, and if seizing any vessel engaged
therein as fully and to all intents and purposes,
