LAWS OF MARYLAND.
CHAPTER 121.

Passed March
22, 1865.

AN ACT appointing Commissioners for the con-
struction of a causeway connecting the bridge
over the Patuxent river, near the village of
Queen Anne, in Prince George's county, with
the main or firm land in Anne Arundel county.

Causeway to
be built.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Richard Wootton, of Prince
George's county; and D. McCullough Brogdeu, of
Anne Arundel county, be and they are hereby ap-
pointed Commissioners with power and authority
to have a causeway constructed, connecting the
bridge over the Patuxent river, near the villiage
of Queen Anne, in Prince George's county, to the
main or firm land in Anne Arundel county, oppo-
site the said bridge; the Commissioners shall,
after three weeks notice in the newspapers pub-
lished in each of said counties, contract with the
lowest responsible bidder for furnishing the mate-
rials and doing the work necessary in the build-
ing of said causeway.

Expense —
how paid.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That the expense of build-
ing said causeway shall be jointly paid by the
said counties, and the County Commissioners of
each county are hereby directed and required, at
their next annual assessment or levy laying term,
to levy the sum of money, not exceeding the sum
of seven hundred and fifty dollars, to pay for the
same, and the said Commissioners shall be paid
such gum as the County Commissioners of the re-
spective counties shall deem just and reasonable
to compensate them for services rendered under
this act.

In force.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
