ASSOCIATION FOR THE HANDICAPPED, INC.

Function: The Association is co-operative,
educational and acts as a clearing house for
the handicapped by emphasizing publicity,
investigation and minor aid, through a
bureau of contact.

1. Responsible for opening the sight saving class at School No. 127, Biddle
Street near Pennsylvania Avenue, April 22, 1930, with an enrollment of
eighteen boys and girls.

2. Instrumental in raising money for pupil transportation to and from
sight saving class until school board took over this responsibility. The
money was then used as an eye glass fund, etc.

It was through the cooperation of Dr. J. W. Wallin, former Director of
Physical Education, Dr. F. M. Wood, Parent-Teacher Associations, and
public spirited citizens that the above things were made possible.

All contributions must he sent to Dr. Wm. H. Watts, Treasurer,
515 N.. Arlington Avenue.

Dues: Service for humanity. Maintenance: Free-will offering.
