He is interested in all fraternal
and civic movements, as well as be-
ing one of the Republican leaders of
the State of Maryland. He seconded
Senator France's nomination (1934)
for the U. S. Senate. He is a mem-
ber and trustee of Enon Baptist
Church.

pleting his fourteenth year as pastor.
He was founder of the Maryland In-
dustrial and Agricultural School, now
Bowie State Normal School. Minis-
ter Resident and Consul General of
the United States in Liberia. Now
Liberian Consul General in the
United States. Three times a del-
egate representing Washington Con-
ference at the Quadrennial General
Conference of the Methodist Episco-
pal Denomination. Chairman of the
Civic Commission that broke the
ground and laid the cornerstone for
the Douglass High School, now the
pride of Baltimore. Member of the
commission which superintended the
building of the War Memorial. Man-
ager of the Summer School of The-
ology of the Washington and Dela-
ware Conferences. One of the in-
corporators and member of the Exec-
utive Committee of the Association
for the Handicapped, Inc.
