THE BALTIMORE URBAN LEAGUE

521 McMechen Street Madison 8478

William N. Jones, Acting President

R. Maurice Moss, Executive Secretary

The Urban League has for its mission the improvement of conditions among
the Negroes of Baltimore and the creation of a better understanding between the
white and the colored races. Its officers, who include both whites and negroes,
are occupied with the problems of life in the colored neighborhoods.

The Urban League is especially active in seeking to improve the economic
status of the Negro and to aid an increasing number of them to find their way to
better paid jobs. This is done in the belief that better pay leads to better hous-
ing, better training, better recreation, better health—to better citizenship.
