MISS MARY VIRGINIA BURRELL

Miss Mary Virginia Burrell, the daughter of Madam Jennie Creditt Jones
and the late M. H. Burrell, is a Baltimorean by birth. She is a graduate of
School No. 103, 1917, and of the Baltimore High School, 1920, completing the
course in three and one-half years.

Miss Burrell in 1921 entered Howard University, Washington, D. C., where
she is pursuing a seven-year combination medical course. She desires to specialize
in women's and chldren's diseases in Germany for one year, after receiving her
medicine course at Howard. Since Miss Burrell has been at Howard she has
served as captain of the girls' debating team of her class and as class represen-
tative to the Students' Council. She is an active member of the Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority.
