BISHOP JOHN HURST
Rev. John Hurst, presiding bishop of
the Florida Conference, African Meth-
odist Episcopal Church, and resident
bishop of Baltimore District.
Probably no man in Baltimore has
the confidence of the public in gen-
eral more than Bishop Hurst. He takes
a keen interest in civic affairs and is
always in the forefront of any move-
ment that has for its object the bet-
terment of mankind.
Bishop Turst is one of the best-
known churchmen in the country. He
is a member of a number of bodies,
including the American Political and
Social Science Association and the N.
A. A. C. P.
Bishop Hurst owes much of his suc-
cess to his charming- wife, Mrs. K.
Bertha Hurst. Their only son, Benoni
Price Hurst, is Medical Professor at
Howard University.
Member of a family that comprises
some of the oldest inhabitants of the
District of Columbia. Is proprietor
of the oldest printing establishment in
Washington. He is a thirty-third de-
gree Mason. Is a Christian gentle-
man and is interested in community
upbuilding. He is charitable to all,
regardless of creed.
Rev. Albert Josiah Green, A. B., of
Harrisbuig, Pa., was trained in Ohio,
his native State; in Washington, D. C.;
Richmond, Va.; Auburn, N. Y., and in
Harrisburg, Pa.
He was recently elected a member
of the Executive Committee of the
local N. A. A. C. P., and a trustee of
the National Training School for Wo-
men and Girls, Inc., Lincoln Heights,
Washing-ton, D. C. Rev. Mr. Green is
a member of the Worlds Sunday As-
sociation. He is also chairman of the
executive committee of the Maryland
Association for Colored Blind
