MRS. MARY E. EVANS.
Wife of Grand Master Evans.

Mrs. Evans represented England in the great Masonic Queens
Rally last April, and was crowned Queen, having raised the largest
amount over the other twenty-five contestants, bringing in $427.50.
This was the greatest affair that was ever pulled off in Baltimore,
taking in almost four thousand dollars in one night, and was held
at the Lyric, the largest Opera House in the South. On this occa-
sion there were over four thousand five hundred admitted and more
than a thousand turned away who could not get standing room.
