Balto. Md.

MY DEAR SIR:—

I take pleasure on behalf of the Library of Congress, to
acknowledge the receipt of the 4th edition of your directory
of the Colored business inhabitants of Baltimore City, and
further to say; it will be bound and placed in the Collection
of books by Colored Authors and Compilers, etc.

Thanking you most heartily for the same, I beg to remain,

Very sincerely yours,

Mr. Robt. W. Coleman,
Baltimore, Md.

DEAR SIR:—

On my arrival home today I found a copy of your Direc-
tory. Please accept my thanks and congratulations for same.
I have carefully perused its pages and they speak for them-
selves; and to avoid repetition of the commendatories I sim-
ply wish to thank you for the copy received.

You will find enclosed my check to encourage you in this
great work.

I have the honor to remain, yours truly,

L. C. CURTIS,

Mr. Robert W. Coleman,

Baltimore, Md.

You are deserving of all praise for the enterprise you
have shown in getting out each year a full and comprehen-
sive directory of the Colored Professional, Clerical, Skilled
and Business Men and Women of your City. A like pub-
lication ought to be gotten out in all of the large business
centers of the country. It would be largely to the advantage
of the race in the commercial world.

JUDSON W. LYONS.
Ex-Eegister of the U. S. Treasury
