The variety of ways of spelling almost every name pronounced, and
there being no rule in the case, renders it impossible for any indiridual to
spell all names correctly; the leader will hare therefore when he does
not find the name of a householder (for they only are inserted) in the place
where he looks for it, to use whatever other spelling will pro-
nounce the same until he finds it.
