names of all persons working on said roads and bridges, or
furnishing material, and the amount to which each person is
entitled for such work and material and which he has certified
as correct, which report shall be made on or before the 15th
day of June for the year ending on the thirty-first day of the
preceding May, and in making of said report shall be allowed
the services of a stenographer and typewriter, to be paid by the
County Commissioners a sum not to exceed twenty-five dollars
for his services. The said County Road Engineer shall not be
interested in any firm or corporation from which anything
shall be purchased for the use of said roads and bridges, nor
receive any commissions on said purchase.

167f. The County Road Engineer may appoint District
Road Supervisors, but not more than one Supervisor in any
election precinct or district of Kent County, who shall be paid
three dollars per day's actual work in supervision, when certi-
fied to by the said Road Engineer to the County Commissioners,
or less if said Engineer in his discretion finds he can obtain as
good service for less, and certifies to Supervisor's bill a less
rate; and it shall be the duty of said District Road Supervisor
to take charge of and manage the work on the public roads
and bridges in the district or precinct for which he is ap-
pointed, subject to the control and direction of the County
Road Engineer; and he shall perform such other duties as
the County Road Engineer may prescribe, and may be removed
at any time by the said County Road Engineer.

167g. Any person appointed under the provisions of this
Act whose duty it shall be to keep accounts or make reports,
who shall fail to do so, or who shall wilfully make false
reports or accounts, shall be liable to indictment by the grand
jury of Kent County, and, if convicted in the Circuit Court
thereof, shall be fined a sum, in the discretion of the Court,
not exceeding three hundred dollars, and shall make good the
loss arising from such neglect of duty or fraud.

167h. Whenever any person or persons shall desire to im-
prove any public road in said county to an extent beyond that
contemplated by the County Road Engineer, he or they may
make application to the County Commissioners by petititon,
setting forth the location of the road to be improved, the
extent and character of the improvement and the probable cost
thereof, and the said County Commissioners shall thereupon
order the County Road Engineer to examine the location and
purpose set forth in the petition, and if he shall be of the
opinion that the public interest will be promoted thereby he
shall report his determination to the County Commissioners,
setting, forth his reasons for. such determination, and estimate
