HARFORD COUNTY. 881

CHAPTER 66.

AN ACT to repeal Section 175A of Chapter 13 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland as enacted by the Acts of
1902, Chapter 127, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, and to add certain new sections to said Article to be
known as Sections 175D, 175E, 175F, 175G, 175H, 175i.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 175A of Chapter 13 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, as enacted by the Act of 1902, Chap-
ter 127, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as
to read as hereinafter set forth, and to add certain new sections
to said Article to be known as Sections 175D, 175E, 175F, 175G,
175H and 175i, to read as hereinafter set forth.

175A. Whenever the Mayor and City Council of Havre de
Grace, having first obtained the approval of and consent of a
majority of the legally qualified voters of said city as herein
provided, shall determine to purchase or erect any gas plant,
electric light plant, water plant or system of sewers for said
city, they are hereby authorized and empowered to borrow on
the credit of said city, a sum of money necessary for such pur-
chase or erection and to issue bonds therefor. And said bonds
shall be issued in the manner and under the same terms and
conditions as to form, maturity, redemption, payment, sinking
fund and other particulars as in this Article provided, for the
issue of bonds for the liquidation of the present floating indebt-
edness of said city shall at no time exceed five per centum of
the taxable basis of said city.

175D. The Mayor and City Council of Havre de Grace shall
forthwith upon the passage and approval of this Act issue bonds
to an amount not to exceed twenty-seven thousand dollars. Said
bonds shall be for sums not less than $100, nor more than
$1,000 each, and shall be signed by the Mayor and counter-
signed by the Treasurer of said city, with the corporate seal of
said city affixed thereto, and shall bear interest at the rate of
five per cent, per annum, payable semi-annually on the first
days of December and June in each year until the principal
is paid and said bonds are called in, and said bonds shall be ex-
empt from municipal and county taxation, in Harford County,
and shall have printed on them an explicit and distinct refer-
ence to this Act as authorizing the issue thereof, and shall ma-
ture not earlier than the first day of May, in the year 1930.
When issued the said bonds shall be forthwith delivered to the
commission named in this Act to be used by said commission
for the purpose hereinafter set forth, and the provisions of Sec-
tion 175 and 175A shall not apply to the bonds issued under
this section-
