the majority shall be against said levy then the tax herein pro-
vided for shall not be levied. And due notice of this election
shall be given by public advertisement at least ten days prior
to said election.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

ARTICLE XII.
GARRETT COUNTY.
CHAPTER 1.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 200, 201, 202, 206B and 206G, and
to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 203, 204,
206 and 206F of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Garrett County," subtitle "Roads," as said sections
were enacted by Chapter 391 of the Acts of 1908.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
'land, That Sections 200, 201, 202, 205, 206B and 206H of Article
12 of the Code of of Public Local Laws, title "Garrett County,"
subtitle "Roads," as said sections were enacted by Chapter 391
of the Acts of 1908, be and the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Sections 203, 204, 206 and
206F be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments so as to read as follows:
203. On January of each year the Board of County Com-
missioners shall appoint one or more road supervisors for
each of the election districts of the county. They shall fix
the per diem of supervisors, which shall not be less than two
dollars, and determine the amount of the bond which shall be
required. They shall also fix the rate per diem of hired labor,
teams with drivers, etc.
204. All road supervisors appointed by the Commissioners
shall qualify by taking the oath of office and giving bond to
the County Commissioners as soon as may be after their ap-
pointment. They shall have charge of the working and repair
of all roads under their supervision and may contract, build
or repair any culvert or bridge that shall not exceed in cost
the sum of twenty dollars; they may hire and pay for out
of funds in their hands such men and teams as shall be neces-
sary for the proper working of their roads. Each of the super-
