832 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 72.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 236A
of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Frederick County," sub-title "Frederick," as the same
was enacted by Chapter 293 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, passed at its January session, in the
year nineteen hundred and two, and repeal and re-enact Sec-
tion 236A of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Frederick County," sub-title "Frederick,"
as the same was enacted by Chapter 295 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, passed at its January ses-
sion, in the year nineteen hundred and four, and to enact a
certain new and additional section, relating to streets, to
follow Section 236B, and to be known as Section 236c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 236A of Article 11 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Frederick County," sub-title
"Frederick," as the same was enacted by Chapter 293 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at its Jan-
uary session, in the year nineteen hundred and two, and Sec-
tion 236B of Article 11 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Frederick County," sub-title "Frederick," as the same
was enacted by Chapter 295 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, passed at its January session, in the year
nineteen hundred and four, be and the same are hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments, and that the follow-
ing new and additional section, relating to streets, to be known
as Section 236c, to follow Section 236B, be enacted so as to
read as follows:

SEC. 236A. The Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick is hereby
authorized and empowered, whenever in their judgment the
public interests or convenience require it, to provide by ordi-
nance for the grading, paving, curbing and sewering, or for
the grading, or paving, or curbing, or sewering, and for the
regrading, repaving, curbing and sewering, or for the regard-
ing, or repaving, or rekerbing, or sewering or repairing in such
manner, at such time and with such material as they shall see
fit, of any street or streets, lane or lanes, alley or alleys, or
any portion thereof, in Frederick, now condemned, ceded, open-
ed as a public highway, or which may be hereafter condemned,
ceded, opened, widened, straightened or altered according to
the laws and ordinances relating to the same; and also for
assessing the cost of any such work, in whole or in part, upon
the property binding upon such street or streets, lane or lanes,
alley or alleys, or part thereof, according to such rule or basis
as it may determine, and for collecting said assessment as
