cases of erasure the said clerk shall draw a line in red ink
through the name just erased or transferred, and under the
heading "Remarks" on said old registries shall enter the words
"transferred by a formation of a new district," and the said
Supervisors of Elections are hereby required to deliver said
new registries to the registers of voters to be appointed for
said new district, at the same time that other registration
books are delivered or required by law to be delivered for the
annual registration of voters. For his services in erasing the
names from the old books and inscribing them in the registries
of the new district, the said clerk shall receive the sum of fifty
dollars, to be paid by the county commissioners of Carroll
county, on the certificate and order of the said Supervisors of

Election.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the Supervisors of Election
shall publish in some newspaper of general circulation in Car-
roll county, at least two weeks before the first session of the
registers of voters of said county, a list of all names erased
from the old registries and inscribed on the new, so that any
person whose name has been improperly erased from the regis-
tries and inscribed in the new may have ample opportunity to
appear before the registers of voters at their session and have
the proper corection made.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the Governor of the State
of Maryland and the county commissioners of said county are
authorized and empowered, respectively, to make appointments
of justices of the peace and constables for said new election
district as are now authorized by law for the other election
districts of Carroll county.

SEC. 6. And be it encted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 281.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Common
Council of Westminster, a municipal corporation of the State
of Maryland, to borrow twenty-five thousand dollars, to be
secured by a bond issue, and providing a tax for the payment
of the interest on said bonds and their redemption, and di-
recting the mode of spending the money so borrowed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Common Council of Westminster,
a municipal corporation of the State of Maryland, be and it is
