TURNPIKE.

SEC. 240. The said Mayor and Common Council is author-
ized and empowered to agree and contract with the president
and managers of the Baltimore and Reisterstown Turnpike
Company for the use and control or purchase of so much of
the road of said turnpike company as passes through Westmin-
ster, or as much thereof as may be desired, upon such terms
and conditions as may be mutually agreed to by and between
the parties aforesaid, for use as a public highway.

SEC. 241. The non-use or failure to execute any of the rights
and privileges hereby conferred upon the Mayor and Common
Council of Westminster, shall work no forfeiture thereof.

. SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing in this Act con-
tained shall be construed to in any manner affect or invalidate
any contract or franchise entered into or granted by the Mayor
and Common Council of Westminster now in force, or any Act
passed at this session of the Legislature authorizing the issu-
ing of bonds or the borrowing of money.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of
Chapter 314 of the Acts of 1900, relating to the Fire Company;
of Chapter 508 of the Acts of 1900, relating to the Road Tax;
of Chapter 395 of the Acts of 1900, relating to the Postoffice
Site; of Chapter 292 of the Acts of 1882, codified as Sections
238 to 246, inclusive, of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local
Laws, entitled "Carroll County," sub-title "Westminster"
(which last-mentioned law shall exist only as long as the pres-
ent contract for water made under its provisions continues), be
and they are hereby declared not to be repealed or affected by
this Act, and are to be and remain in force as fully as though
herein at large set forth.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent with the aforegoing provisions be and the
same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

roll county, and to provide for the. registration of the legal
and qualified voters therein.
