642 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SEC. 745 H. The Captain of Detectives provided for in Sec-
tion 745 of this division of this article shall, from and after
the date of the passage of this Act, receive a salary of $50 per
week instead of $40 per week, as provided by Section 745, and it
shall be included in the annual estimate of expenses by said
Board of Police Commissioners, certified to the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 230.

AN ACT to authorize and require the Board of Police Commis-
sioners of Baltimore City to report to the Governor annually
in the month of January the number and expense of the
Police Force employed by them and all such other matters as
may be of public interest in connection with the duties as-
signed to them, instead of to the General Assembly as pro-
vided by Section 751 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, entitled "City of Baltimore," subtitle "Po-
lice Commissioners."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Police Commissioners for Baltimore
City be and they are hereby authorized and required to report
to the Governor annually, in the month of January, the num-
ber and expense of the police force employed by them under
this sub-division of this Article, and all such other matters as
may be of public interest in connection with the duties assigned
to them, instead of to the General Assembly as provided by
Section 751 of Article 4 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland,
entitled "City of Baltimore," subtitle "Police Commissioners."

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Chapter 85 of
the Acts of 1908, relating to the hours of labor of mechanics
