of the purposes or improvements to which the money is to be
applied, and an estimate of the approximate costs in carrying
out such improvement, and that the proposition of issuing
bonds under this Act may be submitted by the Mayor and
Commissioners of Westernport to the qualified voters by ordi-
nance as herein provided for at any time until the full amount
of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) as herein provided
for shall be authorized, and that the Mayor and Commissioners
of Westernport may if they desire incorporate in- said submis-
sion two or more distinct propositions, and so submit the same
to the voters as to allow them to vote for either or all of said
propositions, so that the provisions of this Act may be effective
as to one or more of them.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the bonds herein provided
for shall bear interest at the rate of five per cent, per annum,
and shall be signed by the Mayor and Clerk of said corporation
and sealed with the corporate seal, and shall be denominated
Westernport General Improvement Bonds, that the said bonds
shall be issued in denominations of five hundred dollars
($500.00), payable thirty years from the date of issuing and
redeemable at the option of the said town of Westernport at
any time after five years from the date of issuing. That said
bonds shall be exempt from all taxation for Allegany County,
municipal tax, Westernport and school purposes.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the said the Mayor and
Commissioners of Westernport in the event of the approval of
such ordinance or ordinances, either as to one or more of the
said items for improvements by the qualified voters of the said
town of Westernport as herein provided for, are hereby author-
ized and empowered to do all things necessary for the issuance
of such bonds, their offering for sale under the most advan-
tageous terms and conditions, the providing of a sinking fund
for the purposes of meeting the interest on said bonds, and
their payment upon maturity, and all other things in connec-
tion with the procuring of the loan, and the issuance and
payment of the bonds and carrying on the work provided under
the ordinance or ordinances as may be necessary and proper.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
