and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, so as to read as follows:

171. The County Commissioners shall have full power to
appoint such managers, keepers, superintendents and phy-
sicians therefor as may be deemed necessary to provide for
their compensation, to prescribe rules for the government
thereof, to enter into agreements for the reception of inmates
thereof, and fix and establish from time to time rates at which
inmates not dependent on the County shall be received, to pro-
vide for the purchase of all supplies and furniture for such
buildings, additions and repairs as may be in their judgment
necessary from time to time; they shall meet .at and inspect
said asylum at least once in each month, shall audit the books
of said asylum monthly, and upon their approval of the bills
and accounts against said institution; the same shall be paid
by the draft of the clerk of the Commissioners, countersigned
by the president of the Board on the treasurer of Allegany
County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect January 1, 1911.

CHAPTER 536.

AN ACT to add one new section to the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Frostburg," sub-title "Bailiff Policemen," to be
known as Section 142A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be added to the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Frostburg," sub-title "Bailiff Policemen," to be
known as Section 142A, and in the Charter of the town of
Frostburg to be known as Section 12A; and to read as follows:

There shall be one person to act as night policeman, elected
in April, 1910, to serve for the term of one year, who shall be
elected as provided in Section 142 in the same manner and
shall be bound by the same duties as the night policeman
therein provided for, and in April, 1911, two night policemen
shall be elected instead of one, as provided in Section 142, and
every second year thereafter the said two night policemen shall
be elected, it being the intention of this law to increase the
number of night policemen to be elected by the qualified voters
of the town of Frostburg from one, as heretofore provided, to
two, as provided by this Act.
