ARTICLE I.

ALLEGANY COUNTY.

CHAPTER 306.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57,
58A, 58B, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 64A, 75, 75A, 75B, 78, 78E, 81, 89,
90 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, entitled "Allegany County," subtitle "Cumberland," and
to add additional sections to said Article 1, and to follow
Section 96, and to be known as Sections 97, 98, 99, 100, 102,
103, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115,
116, 117, 118, 119, 120, 121, 122, 123, 124, 125, 126, 127, 128,
and to repeal all Acts and parts of Acts inconsistent there-
with.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 58A,
58B, 60, 61, 64, 64A, 75, 75A, 75B, 78, 78E, 81, 89 and 90 of Arti-
cle 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled
"Allegany County," subtitle "Cumberland," be and the same
are hereby repealed, and additional sections to said Article 1
are hereby added, and to be known as Sections 97, 98, 99, 100,
102, 103, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114,
115, 116, 117, 118, 119, 120, 121, 122, 123, 124, 125, 126, 127,
128, and to read as follows:

SEC. 97. Candidates to be voted for at all general municipal
elections 'at which a Mayor and City Councilmen are to be
elected, under the provisions of this Act, shall be nominated
by a primary election, and no other name shall be placed on
the general ballot, except those selected in the manner here-
inafter prescribed. The primary election for such nomination
shall be held on the second Tuesday preceding the general
municipal election. The judges appointed for the general
municipal election shall be the judges of the primary election,
and the polls shall be opened and closed at the same hours and
with the same clerks as are required for the general municipal
election. Any person desiring to become a candidate for Mayor
or City Council shall, at least ten days prior to said primary
election, file, or there shall be filed for him, with the City Clerk,
a statement of such candidacy in substantially the following
form:
