SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of January, 1911.
Approved April 13th, 1910.

CHAPTER 292.

AN ACT to repeal Section 9 of Article 81, title "Revenue and
Taxes," of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
in so far as the same affects Anne Arundel County.

Whereas, Section 9 of Article 81 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, requires the Clerk of the Circuit
Court to furnish the County Commissioners with a list of
all deeds, judgments, etc., for the purposes of properly trans-
ferring and assessing property, on the assessment books of
the county.

And Whereas, It has been found by experience that such lists
are useless for such purposes;

And Whereas, Such lists cost the Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County the sum of about three hundred dollars
annually.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 9 of Article 81 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, be and the same is hereby repealed in
so far as the same be and is applicable to Anne Arundel
County.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 7, 1910.

CHAPTER 430.

AN ACT to add an additional Section to Article 81 of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland of 1904, to be des-
ignated as Section 17A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following section be added to Article 81 of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland of 1904, title "Reve-
nue and Taxes," to be designated as Section 17A.

SEC. 17A. Any person or persons, or corporation, claiming
to be aggrieved because of any assessment made by County
Commissioners of any one of the counties of this State, or be-
cause of the failure to reduce or abate an existing assessment,
may, by petition, appeal to the Circuit Court of the county in
which said property is situated; and all of the directions set
