1418 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the stock of said corporation
shall be deemed personal and shall be liable for its debts, and
no stockholder shall be liable therefor, and the president and
directors shall have power to call for the payment of subscrip-
tions to said capital stock as they may deem necessary, and on
and after thirty days thereafter the same shall be due and paya-
ble, and any stock on which said call has been demanded and
not paid, may, at the will of said president and directors, be
forfeited to said corporation and sold for its benefit, and the
said president and directors may issue stock for or in payment
of material, work or services rendered and properly acquired,
in such amount or amounts as said president and directors
may value or deem such services and property worth, advan-
tageous or beneficial to said corporation.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That said corporation is author-
ized and empowered to acquire by condemnation, any right,
franchise or property necessary to carry out the purpose of
said corporation when said corporation can not agree with the
owner or owners thereof, or such owner or owners is or are
under legal disability or out of the county where the right,
franchise or property lies; said condemnation to be in the man-
ner provided in Article 23 of the Public General Laws of the
State of Maryland.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 75.

AN ACT to change the name of "The Federated Charities of
Baltimore, Incorporated," confer additional powers on the
said corporation and on its board of managers, and to amend
its organic law.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the name of "The Federated Charities of Baltimore,
Incorporated," a corporation duly formed by the union or
consolidation of the Baltimore Association for the Improve-
ment of the Condition of the Poor and the Charity Organiza-
tion Society of Baltimore City under the General Laws of this
State and evidenced by a certificate of such union or consoli-
dation dated January 11, 1910, and duly executed, acknowl-
edged and recorded as required by law, be and the said name is
hereby changed to "The Federated Charities of Baltimore."

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation formed
as aforesaid is and shall be entitled to all the property and
assets which belonged to the said former separate corpora-
