1334 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

remove and to give said corporation the right to do general
banking business, if it does not already have said power; now,
therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That in addition to the powers conferred upon it by Arti-
cle 23 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, and
amendments thereto, the Savings Bank of Brunswick, Mary-
land, is empowered to do a general banking business, and as
such to buy, discount and negotiate promissory notes, drafts,
bills of exchange, foreign and domestic, and other evidences of
debt; to receive deposits of money upon which interest may be
paid; to buy and sell exchange, foreign and domestic, and to
issue letters of credit, and to lend money on personal or real
security; provided, however, that said corporation shall be sub-
ject to the provisions of Article 11 of the Public General Laws
of this State, title "Banks," and any amendments thereof, and
the liability of the stockholders thereof shall at all times be
determined by the laws of the State in force at the time the
said liabilities may attach.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 640.

AN ACT to extend the privileges, enlarge the powers and
amend and satisfy the charter of the Patuxent Savings Bank
of Prince George's County, incorporated.

Whereas, the Patuxent Savings Bank of Prince George's Coun-
ty, incorporated, was duly incorporated by certificate of in-
corporation filed in the office of the State Tax Commissioner
on the fifth day of August, in the year nineteen hundred and
nine, and there recorded in Liber No. 2, Folio 220, etc., and
also recorded among the corporation records of Prince.
George's County, in the State of Maryland, in Liber J. B. B.,
No. 1, Folio 175, etc., under the provisions of the General
Laws of the State of Maryland relating to the creation of
corporations, and it is deemed advisable by the directors and
stockholders of said corporation that its charter be amended
so as to increase and extend its powers in order that the said
corporation may conduct its business with the usual facil-
ities accorded to and exercised by corporations engaged in
commercial and general banking.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the said Patuxent Savings Bank of Prince George's
County, incorporated, in addition to the powers possessed by it
