LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That all persons sum-
moned and detailed in accordance with the first Section of this
Act shall be known, recognized and respected as "Special Con-
stables, and shall have full power and authority and jurisdic-
tion in the discharge of their several duties within the Fair
grounds and other enclosures belonging to and controlled by
the said 'corporation, and also within the distance of one-half
mile beyond and surrounding said grounds and enclosures, and -
the said special constables shall arrest all disorderly persons
within the jurisdiction whom they shall find disturbing the
peace in any manner, interrupting the conduct and progress
of any fair or exhibition, or violating any provisions of this Act
or the by-laws, rules or regulations of said corporation, and
shall deliver the said violators to the Sheriff of said Anne
Arundel County, to be dealt with according to law; and said
special constables, sheriff and Justices of the Peace shall
receive for issuing and serving all processes under this Act the
same fees that sheriffs, Justices of the Peace and constables in
this State are now entitled to receive.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the president of
said corporation be and he is hereby authorized and empowered
to discharge and dismiss at any time any one or more of said
special constables aforesaid, on account of a refusal or failure
for any cause to perform any duty imposed by or in accordance
With this Act; and any special constables so discharged or dis-
missed shall forfeit and lose a part or all of his pay, per diem or
wages due to him from said corporation for any services as
special constable aforesaid, at the discretion of the board of
directors of said corporation.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 307.

AN ACT to incorporate the People's Bank of Chestertown,
Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That William M. Slay, H. Benge Simmons, L. Bates Rus-
sell and the subscribers to the stock of the corporation hereby
created, and their successors and assigns, be and they are hereby
created a body corporate by the name of the People's Bank of
Chestertown, Maryland, and by that name shall have perpetual
succession, and by that name shall be competent to sue and be
sued in any Court of law or equity whatsoever; to have and use
a common seal and adopt a constitution and by-laws for the
