fee, and from this list the town bailiff shall from time to time
call out persons for service, and he shall allow no person to
escape from the service. On or about September in each year
a second list shall be made by the town clerk, assisted as afore-
said, including persons becoming liable to serve between the
first day of June and the first day of December in the current
year, and this list shall be delivered to the town bailiff as soon
after the first of September as convenient, and he shall call on
every person named therein to pay him fifty cents, and on such
payment he shall give to the person a receipt exempting from
service during the second half of the current year. Within five
days from the first day of December the town bailiff shall make
a list of those persons who have not paid the exemption fee,
and said officer shall place the names on his list of persons
liable to service. The town bailiff shall make monthly returns
to the town clerk of the moneys collected, and shall pay over
the same to him. Any person who shall fail to pay when
called on by the town bailiff may still pay at any time before
the final list has been made by the town bailiff, and shall pay
fifty cents additional in order to exempt him from service. The
Commissioners of Oxford shall have full power and authority
to pass one or more ordinances for executing, carrying out and
enforcing the provisions thereof and providing systematic ar-
rangements in respect thereto.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted,, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 623.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Chapter 724
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland at the Ses-
sion of nineteen hundred.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 724 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland passed at the Session of nineteen hundred, entitled
"An Act for the Better Protection of Otter and Muskrats
Within Talbot and the Waters Thereof," be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
SECTION 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person within
the limits of Talbot County to shoot, trap or in any manner kill
or have in possession any otter or muskrat, or hide or skin of
same, between the fifteenth day of March and the thirty-first
day of December, inclusive, in each and every year.
