SOMERSET COUNTY. 1131

CHAPTER 10.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 213 to 226 of Article 20 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset
County," subtitle "Revenues and Taxes," as amended by
Chapter 118 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1896;
Chapter 370 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1902, and
Chapter 11 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1906,
relating to the appointment of County Treasurer and Clerk
of the County Commissioners and Collectors of State and
county taxes in Somerset County, and to enact in lieu
thereof the following sections, providing for the appointment
and election of a County Treasurer for Somerset County, to
perform the duties of Treasurer of. said county, Collector of
State and county taxes therein and Clerk to the County Com-
missioners of said county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 213 to 226 of Article 20 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset County,"
subtitle "Revenues and Taxes," as amended by Chapter 118
of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1896; Chapter 370 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1902, and Chapter 11 of
the Acts of the Genera] Assembly of 1906, relating to the
appointment of County Treasurer and Clerk of the County
Commissioners and Collectors of State and county taxes in
Somerset County, be and the same are hereby repealed, and the
following sections, providing for the appointment and election
of a County Treasurer .for Somerset County to perform the
duties of Treasurer of said county, Collector of State and
county taxes therein, and Clerk to the County Commissioners of
said county, are hereby enacted in lieu thereof.

SEC. 213. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of Somerset
County shall be the collector of all State taxes and of all
county taxes for whatsoever purposes levied or to be levied, for
or within said county during the term of his office, or that may
be placed in his hands for collection, and he shall have full
power and it shall be his duty to receive and collect all State
and county taxes levied, as aforesaid, after this Act shall take
effect, and so put in his hands for collection, and all moneys
which may be due said county, with full power to enforce
the payment of the same by sale or otherwise, as hereinafter
prescribed, and to convey title to any real or personal estate
sold by him for the payment of State and county taxes in the
manner prescribed by the succeeding sections; and all taxes
levied in said Somerset County after the 1st day of January,
1910, for State and county purposes, shall be collected by the
County Treasurer.
