CHAPTER 448.

AN ACT authorizing and directing the State Roads Commis-
sion of Maryland to acquire, take over, maintain and im-
prove, as soon as practicable, the public road leading from
Olney, via Sunshine and the Patuxent River, in Montgom-
ery County, thence to Roxbury Mills, Glenwood and Cooks-
ville, in Howard County, at the intersection of said road
with the State Highway, formerly known as the National
Turnpike.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the State Roads Commission of Maryland be and it
is hereby authorized and directed, as soon after the passage
of this Act as practicable, to acquire, take over, maintain and
improve the public road leading from Olney, by way of Sun-
shine and the Patuxent River, in Montgomery County, thence
to Roxbury Mills, Glenwood and Cooksville, in Howard Coun-
ty, at the intersection of said road with the State Highway,
formerly known as the National Turnpike.

Approved April 18th, 1918.

CHAPTER 449.

AN ACT to authorize an issue of bonds by the Mayor and
Council of Mount Airy, a municipality in Carroll and in
Frederick Counties, to an amount not to exceed eighteen
thousand dollars for the purpose of improving the Main
Street of the town of Mount Airy, and of obtaining a water
supply for said town, and to provide for the submission of
the question as to whether or not such bonds shall be issued
to the legally qualified voters of Mount Airy.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Council of Mount Airy, a munic-
ipal corporation of the State of Maryland, in both Carroll and
Frederick Counties, be, and it is hereby, authorized and em-
powered to issue registered coupon bonds of said corporation
for the sum of eighteen thousand dollars, in such denomination
or denominations as it may deem best, and to be payable forty
years from the date of issue, and to bear interest at a rate not
to exceed five per centum per annum, payable semi-annually
on the first day of January and July in every year; and each
of said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and the seal of the
