hundred dollars for each offense and stand committed to the
County Jail until said fine and costs are paid, or until re-
leased by due process of law, all fines collected under this Act
to be turned over to the Treasurer of Charles County to be
placed by him in the Road and Bridge Fund for said County.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of the same in conflict with the provisions of this Act be and
the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsist-
ency.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from June 1st, 1918.

CHAPTER 433.

AN ACT to refund to Carlton R. Sykes, of Howard County,
sums of money erroneously paid by him for State Taxes in
the years 1911, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1915 and 1916.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Treasurer, upon the warrant of the Comptroller,
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay to Carlton
R. Sykes, of Howard County, the sum of twenty dollars and
seventy-three cents ($20.73), being for amounts erroneously
paid by him into the State Treasury and certified as such by
the County Commissioners of Howard County, and the Treas-
ury officials.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of June, 1918.

Approved April 18th, 1918.

CHAPTER 434.

AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Maryland School for

the Blind.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the- General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Charter of the Maryland School for the Blind
as enacted by Act of 1853, Chapter 203, and the amendments
thereof by Act of 1856, Chapter 67, and Act of 1886, Chapter
