EMERSON C. HARRINGTON, GOVERNOR. 769

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 79-C of Article 15 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Kent County," sub-title "County Commis-
sioners," as amended by Chapter 648 of the Acts of 1914, be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

79-C. The said County Commissioners shall meet every
first and third Tuesday in each calendar month from the first
day of January to the first day of January next succeeding,
and at such other time or times as may be necessary.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1918.

Approved April 10th, 1918.

CHAPTER 319.

AN ACT to add certain sections to Article 12 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled "Gar-
rett County," sub-title "Roads," to follow Section 206 and
to be known as Sections 206A, 206B, 206C, 206D, 206E,
206F, 206G and 206H, relating to the acquirement by the
County Commissioners of Garrett County of additional road
ways along and adjacent to the public roads in said county,
and providing for the free passage and travel of the public
when the said public roads are or have been obstructed by
snow drifts.

Section 206A. The County Commissioners of Garrett Coun-
ty shall have power and authority to acquire as hereinafter pro-
vided in this act an additional road way, not exceeding twenty
feet in width along and adjacent to the public roads in said
county where the said road or parte of roads have become or
are subject to annual obstructions from snow drifts and pre-
vents the passage and travel of the public. Whenever any citi-
zen of said Garrett County intends to petition the County Com-
missioners of said county for the opening of any roads subject
to obstructions as aforesaid, and it is desirable and practicable
that a detour adjacent to said road so obstructed and to permit
the free passage and travel of the public using the same be
made, he shall give at least thirty days' notice thereof in some
newspaper published in Garrett County. Counter petitions
may be presented to the County Commissioners, and when they
