$101.00, taxes erroneously assessed against her and paid by
her to the County Commissioners of Chestertown.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of paying the costs of a Public
Street already erected in Chestertown, Kent County, Maryland,
from what is known as the Brick Arch on Washington Avenut,
to the stone road at the Northeast corner of the Voshell House,
the said Commissioners of Chestertown, Kent County, Mary-
land, be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and di-
rected to borrow money on the credit of the town of Chester-
town to an amount not exceeding $2401.00 for the purpose of
reimbursing certain individuals who advanced the money to
enable the Commissioners to construct said road and to pay to
Lillian Urie the sum of $101.00, taxes erroneously assessed
against her and paid by her to the said Commissioners.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from June 1st, 1918.

CHAPTER 298.
AN ACT to provide for the extension, refunding, redemption
and payment of the State Debt of One Million Dollars
($1,000,000), issued pursuant to the Act of 1917, Chapter 3,
and known, as the "War Loan of 1917," by the creation of
a State Debt for the like amount of One Million Dollars
($1,000,000), to be known as the "State Loan of 1918," and
the issue of certificates of indebtedness evidencing the same;
and providing generally for the time, manner and terms of
said "State Loan of 1918," and for the issue and sale
thereof.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That in order to provide for the extension, refunding, re-
demption and payment of the loan of one million dollars ($1,-
000,000) created pursuant to Chapter 3 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland passed at the Extraordinary
Session thereof of 1917, and known as the "War Loan of
1917," a loan is hereby created, to be known as the "State
Loan of 1918," to the amount of one million dollars ($1,000,-
000). The said loan shall be dated August 15, 1918, and shall
bear interest at a rate to be fixed by the Governor, the Comp-
