16A, and to read as follows:
16A. The said Board of Managers of Springfield State Hos-
pital shall have power, whenever in their judgment it is ad-
visable, to sell and convey any unproductive farm lands be-
longing to the Springfield State Hospital, and to purchase with
the proceeds of the sale of such unproductive farm lands such
additional productive farm lands as they may deem advisable.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June, 1918.

CHAPTER 289.
AN ACT authorizing and directing the Police Commissioners
of Baltimore City to pay to Robert G. Claypoole, a former
Assistant Secretary to the Board of Police Commissioners
of Baltimore City, a subscriber to the fund known as a
"Special Fund" in the hands of said Commissioners, such
sum as may have been paid into said fund by the said
Robert G. Claypoole.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Police Commissioners of Baltimore
City are authorized and directed to pay to Robert G. Clay-
poole, formerly Assistant Secretary to the Board of Police
Commissioners of Baltimore City, out of funds in the hands
of said Police Commissioners, known and accounted for as a
"Special Fund," such amount as the Board of Police Commis-
sioners may find has been paid into said "Special Fund" by
the said Robert G. Claypoole.
