CHAPTER 248.
AN ACT authorizing and empowering the State Roads Com-
mission of Maryland to acquire, take over, maintain, and im-
prove, as soon as practicable, the public road leading from
Ashton, via Brown's Corner and Burtonsville, in Montgom-
ery County, to the intersection of said road with the Wash-
ington-Baltimore Boulevard in the Town of Laurel, in Prince
George's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the State Roads Commission of Maryland be and
it is hereby authorized and empowered, as soon after the pas-
sage of this Act as practicable, to acquire, take over, maintain,
and improve, as a part of the Good Roads System of the State
of Maryland, the public road leading from Ashton, via Brown's
Corner and Burtonsville, in Montgomery County, to the inter-
section of said road with the Washington-Baltimore Boulevard
in the Town of Laurel, in Prince George's County.

CHAPTER 249.
AN ACT to repeal and reenact with amendments Section 7-B
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title '' Gov-
ernor," sub-title "Advisory Parole Board," so as to confer
the power to arrest upon the members of the Advisory Board
of Parole and the parole officers appointed by it.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 7-B of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title "Governor," sub-title "Advisory Parole
Board,'' be and the same hereby is repealed and reenacted with
amendments, so as to read as follows:
7-B. The said Advisory Board of Parole shall each receive a
salary of fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500) per annum, and shall
have power to appoint, and remove at pleasure, not more than
four parole officers for the purpose of carrying out the pro-
visions of this sub-title, each of whom shall receive compensa-
tion, to be fixed by said Advisory Board of Parole, not exceed-
ing twelve hundred dollars per annum, to be paid from the
moneys appropriated under the authority of this subtitle. The
Advisory Board of Parole shall also, in its discretion, appoint
and remove at pleasure other persons to serve as parole officers
