SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That beginning with and for the year 1919 and thereafter
no real estate or any estate therein heretofore or hereafter ac-
quired and held for future use, and not for investment, by any
hospital or asylum, not organized or conducted for profit, shall
be subject to state, county and municipal taxation; provided
that such exemption shall not continue for a period exceeding
two (2) years.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1918.

CHAPTER 202.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 6 of
Article 33 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
title "Elections", as the same was amended by Chapter 391
of the Acts of 1914.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 6 of Article 33 of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland, title "Elections", as amended by Chapter
319 of the Acts of 1914, be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows:
6. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of the several coun-
ties may have clerks, with the consent of the County Commis-
sioners, for their respective counties, at such compensation as the
said County Commissioners may fix. The Supervisors of Elec-
tions of the City of Baltimore shall have a chief clerk at a
salary of two thousand eight hundred ($2,800.00) Dollars, and
a deputy clerk at a salary of two thousand two hundred and
fifty ($2,250.00) Dollars, and one assistant clerk at a salary of
Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars, and one deputy assistant
clerk at a salary of Eighteen Hundred ($1,800.00) Dollars, per
annum. The said clerks, and in the City of Baltimore the
chief clerk, deputy clerk, assistant clerk, and deputy assistant
clerk, shall be appointed by the respective boards of supervisors,
and shall be removable by them in their discretion. In Balti-
more City, the chief clerk, deputy clerk, assistant clerk and
deputy assistant clerk, with the approval of the supervisors,
shall from time to time, secure such temporary assistance as
may be necessary for the proper transaction of the business of
